A new podcast has landed into the podcasting world and it will save the lives and sanity of parents everywhere! Fortunately, I get to be a co-host of it with my Chicago Dad-brother, Eric, who blogs at DiaryDad’s Adventures. The podcast is called, “But Daddy Why?” We help answer those questions that kids MUST have answers to, but parents simply don’t have the answers for. We do the research and spin it into 20-30 minute podcast form.
Now that you’re sold and are wondering where you can send all of your money to, let me tell you this…
it’s free. Just listen below, or find us and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.
If you really enjoy them, you can actually watch our recording process, live. We schedule the recordings on Blab (a live video-conferencing app), usually on Wednesdays at 9:30pm. When we’re done recording, Eric works his magic in post-production and puts out the finished podcast for you to enjoy.
Here are the first three episodes. Listen, learn, let us know what questions your kids bombard you with and we’ll get to work for you.
episode 3: The Halloween Special
Pat & Eric go All Hallows Eve on you! Find out why it’s called, “Halloween,” and the origin of the Jack’o’lantern. You will also find out the importance of getting mangel wurzeled during this important holiday.
Listen here (if you dare)
episode 2: Triskaidekaphobia, Paraskevidekatriaphobia, and Long Division
Pat & Eric take a deep look at why people are afraid of the number 13 and why long division is considered, “long.” For the record, Pat would like it to be known that it was his understanding that there would be no math.
Listen here (unless you’re triskaidekaphobic)
the pilot episode: Origins of Daylight Saving Time and Wednesday’s Weird Spelling
Pat & Eric debut the But Daddy Why Podcast and explain why we observe Daylight Saving Time, and why Wednesday is spelled so friggin’ weird. You just may find out that you’ve been saying DST incorrectly… it’s not plural, people!
Listen here (why is “listen” spelled so weird?)
